Particip la COSAC 2020 (Intervenția mea la dezbateri /En)

Intre  30 noiembrie si 1 decembrie 2020 particip, din partea Camerei Deputaților (ca membru al comisiei pentru afaceri europene), la reuniunea plenară online a COSAC, organizata de Presedintia germane a Consiliului UE.

Intervenția mea online a avut loc în cadrul dezbaterilor ce au urmat prezentării făcute de cancelarul german Angela Merkel la sesiunea III a COSAC  ”Rezultatele președiniției germane a Consiliului UE – semestrul II 2019”

Madam Chancellor, thank you for your work for Europe!

The Corona pandemic is an unprecedented and difficult test to the solidarity and unity of the EU, as well as to its capacity to take immediate and coordinated action. This crisis seems to push for more European integration.

I appreciate the efforts and results of the German Presidency towards facilitating this type of response from the EU for the protection of its citizens!

I would like to underline two important results for Romania obtained under the German Presidency of the Council:

On the social files, the adoption of ambitious conclusions on the situation of mobile workers in the EU, including seasonal workers. These conclusions underline how it is mandatory to fully respect the workers rights to social protection, health and security in their workplace, especially in the current context.

On the economic files, my country follows closely and appreciates the advancement and finalization of negotiations on the future MFF 2021-2027 and on the covid Recovery package / Next Generation EU.

I think we all agree that both financing mechanisms need to become operational as soon as possible so as to allow for an efficient response to the ongoing deterioration of the economic and social situation across Europe, including in Romania.

I trust that the German Presidency and all member states will make all necessary efforts so that all the financing instruments become operational and available for MS from the beginning of next year.
